This is an amazingly crisp image, most apparent in the distinct planks of wood that form the walls and the fence on the side of the building. The brown of the woods and the gray of the stones give the buildings a very earthen feel in contrast to the blue-white sky and the olive green waters. Great use of the rule of thirds, I might add. The overall atmosphere of this work is that of historical charm, which comes off of that craftsman working on a gondola, even with a few more modern boats encroaching near his waters.
I do not have much that I can criticize, but I do find the clouds rather dark considering the amount of light hitting the city. It looks to be a brighter day and the clouds do not seem to be in the mood.
In any case, this is a well-worked photo with lots of thought put into it. Excellent work.
